Razor Burn

Razor Burn

The number one reason for razor burn is practicing improper shaving techniques. Because the painful red patches of razor burn can last for hours on up to days, taking your time and doing it right will save you from this skin condition that afflicts men and women.

Unfortunately, most people experience razor burn on their most sensitive areas ie: the face, neck, underarms, bikini line, and legs. Improper shaving techniques will push the hair back into the follicle which causes inflammation and ingrown hairs.

How to Avoid Razor Burn:
  • Use warm water on the hair before shaving this will soften the hair, which makes for a smoother shave. The best time is during or after bathing.
  • Use a shaving gel or cream, NEVER SHAVE DRY.
  • Never shave against the grain of your hair.
  • Always use a sharp razor.
  • Don’t apply too much pressure while shaving.
  • Always take your time while shaving.
  • Always apply a mild after-shave lotion or gel that contains vitamin E, salicylic acid, aloe vera, or witch hazel.
